happy thoughts

the academic year is about to close. im in the process of finalizing and tying things up. as the things escalate, here are the thoughts that snap me out of my "panicky" mode (as mel calls my ngarag moments hehe)

1) in a month or so ill be graduating! onwards to a new phase in my life!
2) i accepted the offer of SMART, so i have work na! in a good company!

have you ever experienced having someone grow on you? someone who you didn't seem to mind or notice before and then cause the person's always around, your view of the person changes?

well, it's just so interesting. i guess it's the laws of familiarity and attraction working overtime. haha

i'm going there tom again. if i see that person ulet, abaw, iba na to. :DD

new discovery

discovered something just recently - googling people! and in fairness it works. u can learn so much about the people you wanna know about especially if they're really active sa internet. ako, i have 2 hits sa google. one from this ssc website and one from my friend's blog. haha. my stalker tendencies are showing.

hp seminar and zerofool dinner

attended the first ever HP leadership seminar last saturday. for a first, i can say it was succesful. i was surprised cause i thought that there would be students from other schools but it turned out that only UP students were invited. majority were from engineering, while the rest from business administration.
the various leadership talks/ or what they call success modules were interesting. to inspire us more, invited speakers were all graduates of up. seeing them reach their positions now in hp fills me with a sense of pride and hope that one day, ill be a hot shot like them. haha.
was very interested in module 2 or business management success which was administered by sir peter (i forgot his last name! hehe) and got into a conversation wih him. incidentally, he's also the manager of the SAP purchasing module of the HP operations, which is what I am currently studying under the bayantrade. later that afternoon, some of my friends from hp told me that sir peter noted my name. wee! i hope that means something. hehe
after the seminar, rushed to megamall to have dinner with some of my 01 batchmates. This is the first time i've seen them since they graduated so it was very "emotional" for me. hehe. had dinner with them at sbarro and did lots of catching up. after that headed to bali blends cafe. its a small unassuming shop beside starbucks in megamall. really enjoyed their products especially their grape shake. it really tastes like fresh grapes! as in! not like the other shakes sold in shops which taste like medicine. hehe

gonna do a follow up powow with them next week and play badminton. i guess i better start practicing badminton so i wont look stupid next sat. hehe

Tipping Point

first of all, happy valentine's day to all of you! hehe

was eating dinner with my family earlier when my brother ruefully commented on having to study for an onse exam on valentine's. hearing this reminded me of my own onse days and the most memorable valentine's day in my college life. hala, senti moments na! hehe

it was my second year when i was required to take up es 11. i too had an exam due the next day after valentines. THat feb 14, i still attended class to get last minute pointers for the exam and was (also like aaron) ruefully contemplating about having to go home directly and study for an exam when i could be enjoying the day. my prof, sir hernandez's usual habit was to give a quiz at the start of the period, and as he was making funny comments and saying valentine jokes, somebody knocked at the door and disturbed him. to my surprise (as in SURPRISE) there was a rose delivery for me from this guy with a valentines and good luck message for my onse exam. Of course because of that, i got a lot of ribbing from my prof and classmates. even throughout the quiz, my prof was commenting on how sad the economy was since i was the only one who got a flower delivery and it was one measly rose. haha. but during those moments, i didn't care. i was floating off to rose colored daydreams. haha. yes, its actually very corny but being a hopeless romantic, i always fantasize about the "big gesture" from guys in showing their feelings" haha.

it was the first sweet thing that a guy did for me in college. after that, the next years' valentines went kind of downhill already hehe. i guess that was the tipping point. and i've never forgotten it. hehe. dont get me wrong, im not bitter, just sentimental. i still believe that the prince charming who's gonna sweep me off my feet is somewhere, he just got lost along the way and is too stuborn to ask for directions! ;p

and if you're wondering, nope nothing happened between me and the rose sender. hehe. we're still friends up to now though and somtimes we still text each other or send messages through friendster. hehe. i guess that person has a special place in my heart. funny but i think he doesnt know that he was the one who gave me the best valentine's gift in college. hehe. actually, first date ko din cia ever in college so i guess he's really memorable hehe.

got a txt message from smart last friday informing me of my physical exam schedule tom at 9 am.

wee! so i guess ill be a business analyst (convergent processes group) for smart. ang lalim pakinggan! hehe

it just feels so good that i have an option after graduation already "D hehe

got a text message from smart last night informing me of my final interview schedule today at 6 pm. As if my day isn't going to be busy enough hehe. Started at Ayala Land (my number 2 dream company next to San Miguel) for a series of exams (7 exams! plus three super long questionares!) which lasted the whole morning. M now taking a rest at my dad's office and blogging when in fact i should be studying/cramming about telecommunications (for Smart) before I head for Chase at 2 pm for another interview. waah! due to the fact that i got informed last minute about my final interview with smart, hadn't started on reviewing tech stuff yet. so now here i am cramming. and now im so grateful to wikipedia since they information on GSM (Group Special Mobile-naks ngaun ko lng nalaman un! hehe), 0G, 1G, 2G, 3G and other technical stuff i have to know by 6 pm. haha. crash course in telecommunications.

owel. better get back to studying. hehe. just wanted a little time to unwind. ;p

major happiness booster, just got a call from san miguel (my dream job) scheduling me for a job interview. hehe. kaya nga lang when they learned that havent finished studying yet, they told me to call back when i finish studying. hehe. pero ok lng. just knowing that they even considered me for a job makes me so happy. lahat ng hirap at pagod, bawing bawi na! hehehe

spent

just arrived at home, feel so tired and stressed. come to think of it, my day wasn't really jampacked. spent the morning attending my 156 class and doing consultations with sir ega for our database. in the afternoon, reviewed sap for a little bit and then headed for my interview with smart.

my interview with smart turned ok. got euphoric when sir rocky said that he'd endorse me for my final interview. however, he gave a condition that i should read on smart technologies more since i don't have an IT background. in retrospect, i think i had a lucky break cause i don't think i was able to impress sir rocky fully with my technical interview that's why he's making me study. hehe. but at least he still gave me a chance.

and now, i feel tired. hehe. i don't really know why actually. maybe cause my energy was spent on being euphoric earlier. and maybe cause now i feel like i'm in limbo. it's hard waiting for the status of my application. i mean i've been through 4 interviews already! and there's one more. and i guess that's not the end of the process yet. and to think i have to read up on IT stuff. owel. im so impatient! hehe

onga pala, sir rocky, the senior manager who interviewed me is very gwapo! haha. kaka-conscious. kanina due to my nervousness, i hit this globe figure on his desk. tapos hirit nia "hala, u rocked the world!" haha. how adorable. basta andami kong mga maliliit na katungekan kanina. haha. and my hands were as cold as ice nung nag-shake hands kami dahil sa tension! hahaha
